RESEARCH ASSIGNMENTS

I am familiar with fundamentals in research methodology. My research assignments as associate investigator during my tenure as Registrar and Research fellow and as chief investigator as Consultant Rheumatologist include-

MACROVASCULAR DISEASE IN SYSTEMIC SCLEROSIS. A prospective study completed in March 2004.

Clinical trial to assess efficacy of Pamidronate in unresponsive Ankylosing spondylitis - as research fellow in KEMH, Mumbai.

Therapeutic strategy to use Azathioprine in patients with Systemic sclerosis- study to assess role of azathioprine in Ssc with ILD - as research fellow in      KEMH, Mumbai.

THROMBOFLUX IN ACUTE-MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION a Multicenter Open blinded Prospective Study designed to test the efficacy and safety of      Thromboflux conducted between Sept 2004 & May 2005 at KEM Hospital & BYL Nair Hospital, published as Original article in The Indian Practitioner.

A study involving retrospective analysis of the patients admitted with snake envenomation in Medical and Neuro Intensive Care at KEM Hospital, Mumbai.

Prophylactic Human Tetanus Immunoglobulin (Tetglob) in patients with Tetanus prone injuries- A prospective study at KEM Hospital.

I have supervised Bio-equivalent studies on human controls at Wellquest Research center, Mumbai as a Physician on panel.

Phase III, multicentric, single blind, randomized, comparative study to assess the efficacy & safety of flupirtine maleate vs tramadol hcl in patients with acute     & subacute pain- study completed in feb 2010 at Spandan hospital and Rheumatology clinic.

Participated in Phase III  Global trial efficacy trial of an oral  biologic agent  involving RA patients that concluded March 2012 as Principal Investigator.
    Currently involved in 2 Global RA and 1 Indian RA trial (Ongoing) as Principal Investigator

Participated in Principal Investigators meet held in Manila,   Philippines in June 2013 for BLISBIMOD study.
